What do you have?
That’s all Jesus ask.
Before feeding the 5000, Jesus asked the apostles “What do you have?”
Not long after 4000 hungry folks were following them in a desolate place.
Jesus felt compassion for them and wanted to feed them.
“What do you have?”
Instead of telling what they had, the apostles began to offer up excuses.
“Where can we find enough food in this desolate place?”
Jesus simply answered with another question – “What do you have?”
Finally, they revealed 7 loaves of bread a few fish.
What they saw as not enough for themselves fed 4000. And they collected 7 baskets of leftovers.
How often do we ask “Where can I find enough?”
Am I enough?
We disguise our fears as excuses. We hide our excueses in questions.
No matter how we phrase “Where can I find enough?”
Jesus will ask in return “What do you have?”
Use what we have to the best of our ability. Use what God has already blessed me with to do all I can. Use all I have and give it all to God.
Then do the work. Take action.
And see how he multiplies and makes it greater than we could have ever dreamed on our own.
